Lloydminster is Canada’s only Border City with the provincial border running through the center of the city, dividing Alberta from Saskatchewan. The highway access is one of the many strengths of the region. The TransCanada Yellowhead Highway #16 runs directly east and west, while Highway #17 runs north and south of Lloydminster, parallel to the provincial border in many locations.

The region has railway service by Canadian National Railway (CNR) & Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). Vermilion is a terminal point for the CNR, on a secondary main line connecting Edmonton to the west and Saskatoon to the east. Spur trackage is available and CNR lease land is available for industrial and commercial enterprises. CPR is utilized east of the City for Husky Energy's Upgrader and Ethanol Plant.

Lloydminster is serviced by Central Mountain Air which is the regional airport and provides daily scheduled and chartered air service. It offers chartered flights to over 17 communities across British Columbia and Alberta. Flights are available to Calgary International Airport through Central Mountain Air. Lloydminster is also located between Edmonton International Airport and Saskatoon International Airport providing world wide access for people and goods. Charter service is available through Border City Aviation and Courtesy Air.

Greyhound Bus Lines operates daily, which includes both scheduled passenger and parcel services east and west of Lloydminster. Connections are made directly to major Canadian cities such as Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. Visit Greyhound's website for schedules.

Lloydminster Handivan Society

The Lloydminster Handivan Society is a non-profit transportation service for persons with disabilities and/or mobility challenges. The service is provided within city boundaries and also accommodates out of town travel if prior arrangements are made.
